Greetings from Peoria, Illinois!
The Patron SIX Blue Sharks Association will be holding its 2004 get-together in Beautiful
Peoria. The dates are Sun. Sep 19, 2004 through Tues. Sep. 21, 2004.
SMILE AND HAVE FUN. Visit your friends, make new friends, go to lunch with some, gather by the pool & swim and
gab. Visit the mall, tour the city, play the slots & tables. Golf, walk, or ride a riverboat. Visit "Honest ABE".
Hotel:
We have secured Peoria Castle Lodge, a Raddison Hotel, as our headquarters hotel. Enclosed is a brochure about the hotel. It is a Landmark Hotel with all of the necessities. We have negotiated a rate of $65.00 per night for both singles and doubles, queen size beds or twins. If preferred this hotel has “Old World” charm, and should be very comfortable for all.

Hotel
has an indoor heated pool and exercise room. Rooms have coffeemakers, hair dryers, irons & ironing boards. There is a complimentary shuttle and there is a limo service.
The hotel restaurant features full
breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. A buffet on Mondays and Sunday brunch.
Schedule of events:
Sunday
- The way we see it now, we will start off with social activities in a Hospitality Suite on Sunday where we will be set up for conversation and swapping of lies.
The hospitality suite will be open and
stocked during the entire event. We will post any pictures you might want to show off. If copies of pictures can be sent ahead of time, it would be appreciated. Numerous kinds of refreshments and snacks
will be.provided from your reunion fee. Bring photos and show and tell items. Bring your laptop. Bring videos to show. There will be tour books and photos and displays to view and hopefully a way to
duplicate some.
Monday – On Monday we will schedule activities that should satisfy all (see below).
Monday evening
– Monday evening will be set aside for VP-6ers to get together socially with shipmates they served with during the forties, fifties, sixties, etc. Times and locations to be announced later. If any of these groups need guidance in selecting places to hold these events, please call on Jack Masters or Snide Etherton.
Tuesday morning – Tuesday morning we will have a formal association meeting to discuss any business that may be necessary. Time will be announced later.
Tuesday afternoon
– Tuesday afternoon will be spent in the hospitality suite or shopping. Other activities can also be scheduled, depending on your response.
Tuesday night
- A banquet will be held with cocktails and presentations by dignitaries, such as, Congressman Ray Lahood, Mayor Ransburg and possible others. No long speeches, just plenty of fun.
Wednesday
- will be take-off day, but we will have brunch at the hospitality suite.
