1958

The following 1958 deployment films were shot by VP-6 Photographer’s Mate (PHG2) Mike Herron. He shot these films in 8mm and recently edited/spliced them for conversion to DVD format.  

"Pilots and crew in flight suits say good-bye to families, walk to twelve big planes parked in formation.  All engines start with lots of smoke, and all planes get into the air.  They form up into threesomes and return that way for their fly by.  Later, a single P2-V leaves Japan and flies to some Korean islands, then inland for scenery sites, but no escorts show up."
